Protects people and animals

The cage encloses the propeller on every side, so the turning blades cannot reach a swimmer, a diver or a dog — in a man-overboard manoeuvre, while someone is being recovered from the water, or when you motor through a busy anchorage.

Faster with it than without it

A petrol outboard already carries a cavitation plate that a guard can be bolted to. An electric outboard does not — so a V4A stainless cavitation plate is part of every Prop Guard. It keeps the stern from squatting and the propeller from ventilating, which is why the boat runs faster with the Prop Guard fitted than it did before.

Built for salt water

UV-resistant high-performance thermoplastic: extremely rigid, very light, and unaffected by fresh or salt water. Working range −20 °C to +60 °C. The only maintenance is a regular visual check.

The colour is the size

Every cage is colour-coded, and the colour tells you the size — it is not a style option. You automatically get the one that fits your propeller: yellow up to 8.5″, orange up to 10.5″, blue up to 12.5″, red up to 13.5″, black up to 15.5″ propeller diameter.

Cleared to 22 knots

Released for speeds up to 22 knots. The largest cage, the black one, has been tested to 60 knots.

Mounting and limits

Cage and cavitation plate form one fixed unit and are not used separately. Fitting requires drilling into the shaft of the outboard. And to be clear about what the cage is for: it protects people and animals from the propeller — it offers no protection if you hit a solid obstacle or run aground.
